As reported earlies the weekend matches for our Premier and Youth League sides paired us up against our archrivals Hellenic.

In our last meeting for our Premier League side against Hellenic, we came up trumps cruising to a 4-1 victory.  The weekend result was one of the best our club has produced completely dominating, which was reflected in the scoreline of 8-2.  We started of a little bit gingerly and almost conceeded and early goal, which seemed to be the wake up call for our boys.  Following this breif lapse in concentration the team put on a great display of skills and tenacity and we dominated in all facets of the game and by half time the score was 5-1 and the game was all but over, with first half goals from Iain Macpherson, Ross Tsounias and a hatrick from our blonde bomber in Mitch Amidy.

Our defence was rock solid with the backline consisting of goalkeeper Themelie Magriplis, Michael Kosmidis, Eddie Carroll, Iain Macpherson and captain Dave Amidy snuffing out Hellenic's attack.  Our midfield were dominant and controlled the play with Nick Halkitis and Dimi Dioyonisiou pulling all the strings allowing Ross Tsounias and Eric Lede to raom the flanks and penetrate the blues defence. Included in the side from the start was Eric Lede who was brought into the team in the abscence of the injured Matt Goodwin and Eric played a fantastic match for his first derby.  Up front we were as potent as ever with Mitch Amidy and Michael Tsounias reaping havoc that had Hellenic's defence scrambling and out of sorts on many occasions.

In the second half the boys consolidated their dominance scoring another 3 goals with 2 penalties scored by a rampant Ross Tsounias and a great goal from Edson Dos Reis, who backed up from playing in the Youth side earlier during the day.  Our second half reinforcements with the likes of Con Delo, Michael Prentice, Michael Dioyonisiou and Terry Kathopoulis all came on and hit the ground running with solid performances.  The entire team played with the spirit and pride that we are renowned for and the victory was well deserved, which more importantly keeps us in the hunt for the title and closes the gap on League leaders Casuarina by a solitary point.  This victory could be the platform that we need to take us to the title but only time will tell.

In the earlier match our Youth side were valiant in their 1-0 loss to Hellenic.  This match was a tale of two halves with Hellenic deserving their 1-0 half time lead.  In the second half our boys played with the skill and tennacity that we know they can play with and dominated the second half.  In defence goal keeper Neslon Nehu, Jake Toogood, Matt Hdjic, Tellie Geranis and Zack Kontzionis stood firm setting up the attack from the backline releasing Alex O'regan and Spiros Pastrikos up the flanks.   The boys continually peppered the Hellenic goal with Alex O'regan, Paul Grant and Spiros Pastrikos delivering penetrating balls through to Edson Dos Reis, James Igga and Michael Kondaridis and we were very unlucky not to equalise.  A great effort by our Youth side and clear indication that we have a bright future ahead, keep it up guys!!!
